2012 and change is in the air!

Well, I have been updating my website this past week and it seems that old news is no news....so be it! I have lost archived blogs and calendar dates, guestbook comments and other tidbits. Seems like a good housecleaning was in order whether I wanted that or not.So here we are...2012. Is it just me or do things seem a little more 'ramped up'? There seems to be a kind of urgency in the air...even my primula are blooming early and the spring cauliflower are nearly ready to eat, here in the heart of winter.I started washing the windows in our greenhouse today, turning the soil in the raised beds and counting my saved seeds. We do what we can, all the while cognizant that we could be doing more.

I like this:

Time to put another log on the fire....bee well.

Sunshine and music

Well, so much for trying to keep up with my 'web log'...I really wish it were called something else, other than 'blog'. Maybe I'm overly sensitive, but the term 'blog' has a negative physical effect on me, much like the feeling of having overeaten, or being deprived of sleep.

So, the record is finished,  the artwork for the album is nearly done, the artbook is finished, the tour is shaping up and I have to say that I am super excited. Those of you in the Victoria/ Vancouver BC area will be able to hear the entire record and some older songs when I perform on March 3 and 4th , respectively, with this  stellar band.

Marc Atkinson http://www.marcatkinson.com on guitar

Rick May http://www.rickmay.ca on da bass

Daniel Lapp http://www.daniellapp.com on the flumpet

Joby Baker http://www.bakerstudiosltd.com

Stay posted for times and place.

Have a beautiful day....

Rainy day at home, woodstove warming....tea brewing, dogs sleeping

A break from planting the garden today......rain and lots of it, which is good. I need to do some office work. Last week I was in the studio with Joby Baker, laying down four new songs with my dear friends, Rick May on the bass and Marc Atkinson on guitars and mandolin.......oh yes, and Joby on drums. That man can play everything really really well....okay, except maybe brass instruments. He makes the best coffee, too. I'll try and get some photos posted , soon. Bear with me folks, I am very new to social networking and I am fervently hanging onto my precious time for other things...still, I'll try and stay more up-to-date. Bye for now:-)
